Announcement : 

Kia ora MBS Parents/Caregivers and Whaanau We are writing to provide an important update regarding the MOSA Inter-School Cross Country Zones and Athletics Zones.  Regrettably, we must inform you that both these events will not be going ahead this year and are cancelled due to factors beyond our control.  We acknowledge that the dates were listed on our school calendar however the leadership team have only been officially notified of this outcome at the end of last week following the MOSA meeting. We sincerely apologise for the late notice and for any frustration or disappointment this news may cause. We understand how much this event means to our tamariki, particularly those who trained diligently and placed in our school cross country finals. It is deeply disappointing that our qualifiers will not have the opportunity to represent Maangere Bridge School at the zone level this year. Please be assured we will still be formally recognising and celebrating all students who participated and placed in our school cross country and Athletics finals. Their hard work, determination, and achievements deserve to be honored. IMPORTANT UPDATE – Severe Weather

Kia Ora Parents/Families and Whaanau, 


We would like to inform you on behalf of the Board and the staff that according to warnings and MetService we are expecting Tropical Cyclone Gabrielle to bring strong winds and heavy rain in the upper North Island. 
 
All schools will have an emergency plan and we have been advised by the Ministry of Education to review this in advance of weather events. Any directive will be based on advice from emergency management services and the safety of our tamariki. 
 
A decision will be made on whether it is safe for our school to be open during these events based on the health and safety of our learners and staff. 
 
The Ministry of Education will keep Principals and school leaders informed of responding to the impacts of the storm. We will continue to inform our school community, parents and whaanau once we have more information.  
 
We appreciate your support and patience at this time. We ask that you refer to other sources of information such as Met Service www.metservice.com as you prepare for Cyclone Gabrielle.
