Office Assistant/Receptionist  

Responsible to: Accounts and Office Manager, Principal, Board of Trustees

Hours:  8.30 am – 3.30 pm, 5 days a week (term time only)

Job Purpose:  To support the school admin office and ensure professional, friendly and efficient day to day operation of the Mangere Bridge School office.  

Areas of Responsibilities:

*Relationships, Administrative Systems *Student Attendance *First Aid *Health and Safety *Emergency Management

At Maangere Bridge School we serve a diverse and multicultural community. We are seeking a full-time (Monday-Friday) ‘Office Assistant/Receptionist’ to be part of a team who can keep our office running smoothly and support the Accounts and Office manager, the Principal, staff and students.
Our ideal candidate will have a great sense of time management, a positive can-do attitude, multi-tasking abilities and excellent people skills.

Key Responsibilities would be:

  • To provide quality administration and receptionist skills
  • To demonstrate general office management
  • To coordinate, meet deadlines and have the ability to make admin decisions
  • To have initial contact and respond face to face, telephone and emails inquiries
  • To complete student enrolments and attendance using SMS and using ENROL  
  • To complete other school administrative tasks as required

The successful candidate will have the following:
• At  least 2 years experience
• Relational and people skills
• Team player and Inclusive
* Self-motivated
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* IT and computer skills
* Excellent time management

KAIAKO RŪMAKI REO – TE HIAROA

We are seeking a passionate kaiako to work in a Y5–6 Akomanga within our Rūmaki whānau, Te Hiaroa at Māngere Bridge School. The successful kaiako will be expected to teach Te Marautanga o Aotearoa

Te Hiaroa is built of two Level 1 immersion classrooms and one Level 2. We pride ourselves on delivering quality education in te reo Māori to all willing tamariki while incorporating Te Aho Matua within the values of our whānau.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team that strives to reconnect tauira and whānau to te reo Māori me ōna tikanga while allowing them to shine within a diverse multicultural environment here at Māngere Bridge School. 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Fluency in Te Reo Māori is an advantage.
  • Full NZ teacher registration.
  • Knowledge of Te Marautanga o Aotearoa.
  • An understanding of our local history.
  • A willingness to learn and embrace change.
  • Knowledge of how to teach an integrated curriculum.

This position is available from term 3, 2024.
