Announcement :

Our Digital Technology

At MBS we provide learning opportunities across all year levels for students to access engaging, interactive and educational resources.

Our Years 4 – 6 students use Chromebooks in class as a tool for learning a range of skills that involve exploring and creating digital presentations, sorting information and ideas that align with our student inquiry theme each term. Some of the digital tools and applications used by our seniors include Writers Tool Box, Mangahigh and google docs.

Our Years 1 – 3 students use iPads as an introduction to the use of technology with the opportunity to access interactive, user friendly and age appropriate apps focusing on phonics and maths skills which cater for all of our  junior students.

Our aim is to enhance students’ learning through the use of digital technology tools across all levels creating curiosity and digital literacy foundations for every tamaiti.

Our student’s safety is at the centre of all learning when using digital tools in the classroom.. Our school provides N4L (Network for Learning) as a safety hub and we also have Linewize and Pulse for our Year 4 – 6 students to check in through their device as part of student wellbeing. Teachers continue to be equipped and supported using these tools. All new whaanau who enrol at MBS are provided with an agreement for how students will use the digital devices such as iPads and this document is signed by our parents/caregivers who agree to the expectations from the school.  Our school policies include information for our whaanau to recognise the responsibility of the students, school and the community.

Our aim is for all students at MBS to be confident, responsible, equipped with the basic tools and sound knowledge in order to be prepared for the future of a digital world.
