Iunite Samoa – Samoan Immersion Unit Years 1 – 3

Our Iunite Samoa/Samoan Immersion Unit have one Junior Vasega Classroom for Years 1 – 3. This is a Level 1 Immersion class which is 81 – 100% delivery of the gagana Samoa Language.

The Iunite Samoa/Samoan Immersion Unit Team includes the Leader and Deputy Principal Mrs Tofilau and the Faiaoga Junior Teacher Ms Lisi Seve who is teaching the Years 1 – 3 class, Mrs Tigafua the Classroom Release Teacher and our Teacher aide Vaotane Filemoni.

We have a successful team who are fluent in both the Samoan and English languages. They are enthusiastic, committed and all uphold and promote Gagana Samoa and the Fa’a Samoa Culture, Language and traditions teaching our tamaiti.

Our Faiaoga will provide engaging, authentic and meaningful learning experiences for all tamaiti through the delivery of The New Zealand Curriculum in Gagana Samoa. We take pride in our partnership with all of our Matua/Parents and aiga/families who have enrolled their child in the Iunite Samoa/Samoan Immersion Unit.

The Faiaoga will meet once a week with the Leader of the Samoan Unit as part of ongoing professional growth and development with a commitment to improving student outcomes. There will also be times where the team will take part in F.A.G.A.S.A which is the network of faiaoga who are part of other Samoan Immersion and Bilingual Units of other schools.
