School Board News

Kia ora koutou katoa,

I trust this message finds you and your whaanau well and enjoying a restful Easter break.

A big thank you to our staff, teachers, and aakonga (pupils) for their incredible work, persistence, and positive contributions to the MBS environment during Term One. We are grateful for the committed preparation required to provide a safe, engaging learning environment every day. To help our aakonga truly thrive in this environment, we need your partnership as parents—you play a vital role simply by ensuring your child attends school each day.

Looking at our attendance for the first eight weeks of this term, we recorded the following:

  • 66.89% of pupils attended 91–100% of the time.

  • 20.00% of pupils attended 81–90% of the time.

  • Total: 86.89% of our pupils are attending 81–100% of the time.

This is a solid foundation, and we would love to see these numbers climb even higher next term. Consistent attendance is key to unlocking your child’s full potential.

As a Board, we are excited about the work happening across different parts of our school right now, including the project to “Save our School Pool,” the PTA, Te Hiaroa and our Iunite Samoa (Samoa Unit).

Enjoy the school holidays, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed for Term Two.
